Default For you sts guys ???

I was wondering if I could weld a flange to the back of my y pipe and put the turbo on there at the point. I would use the other things in the kit. This is possible correct. Let me here what you guys think. Or should I just put it in the place of the regular sts kit.Let me know what you think.

I have thought about moving mine closer to the end of the stock Y pipe too. If there are not any clearance issues I would think it should help spool up some.
If you had an extended cab it will definetly be a better place!
Just remember, modifying the turbo's mount point will also modify the return piping to your intake somewhat.

I think it can be done but I think you may have to run the pipe lower than the frame.

If you move it forward be prepared to biuld an intercooler as you loose the cooling of the longer exhaust and intake pipes.....

I was planing on doing a front mount in either case. I was thinking of doing the livernois kit but I can get the sts for cheaper and I just ordered these damn pacetters. How well will the headers hold up to the turbo's heat....

You can do it, just have it do a 90* bend toward the tranny. Mound the turbo in there sideways (in relation the STS's mounting), that way the exhaust outlet and the comp. inlet and outlet will all me lined up properly for the rest of the kit to jive.

I plan on doing this in the future, but I'm going to be moving it foward in stages to see if I get any noticable gains. It's my effort to put the front mount vs. rear mount debate to the test.
