Default Whipple build..Pistons,8rib pulleys and 100mm idlers??

Started my 2009 Denali 2.3L Whipple build and I am wanting some direction on some of the parts a pieces im wanting to add to the build. First off what pistons are people running? I am leaning towards some -11cc Wiseco pistons that Texas Speed has told me would be good for my build. I am also wanting to go with a 8 rib setup and a 10% UD right off the bat with some 100mm idlers...can some point me in the right direction for those items....thanks in advance.

You want 10% OD, and those piston are good but more details are needed to determine proper cc of pistons.

Yea what 10% OD pulley are people going with and what website can I find 8rib pulleys for my whipple and some 100mm idlers? I've bought a lot parts from Texas speed and they recommend the walbro -11cc Pistons. The truck will be a daily but I'm building it so I can know in the back of my head it's reliable.

The truck build will be:
2.3L whipple (12-14 psi) bought
LS3 ported heads bought
1 7/8" long tubes bought
texas speed blower vvt cam (already installed)
walbro 450 with return system bought
63# injectors bought
Forged Rods (Callie) bought
2800 circle D converter bought
built 6l80
Alky meth kit
bigger throttle body (haven't decided which one)

innovators west makes a 10% OD that comes with a full 8 rib pulley set including a 8 rib for your blower

The IW kit is for magnachargers, not whipple. Whipple does make 8 rib pullies, but they are not correct for your truck, I think, without at least a snout change ($500). You can not run 2x100mm idlers on the whipple bracket as they are closer together than the magnarcharger pullies which is what most are based on. I adapted a HD tensioner on mine but had to make some custom parts to work with the whipple bracket.

You can make it happen, but its a lot of work.

I just don't want to have any sort of belt slippage, so what are my options on the whipple to go 8 rib or whatever other route I need to get around belt slip

I believe whipple sells an 8 rib kit from ATI for the camaro, and you could get that to work most likely by going to car accessories (or the spacing may be the same actually). Only down side is its pretty expensive.

Are you getting any slip now? Usually a tensioner upgrade and good belt is enough unless you are getting pretty serious.

Atomic,

Can you point me in the right direction for the HD tensioner upgrade for my 2.3L Whipple on my 09 sierra so I can do the upgrade during the supercharger install.

thanks

Not really because there isnt an official one. I took the same tensioner the maggie guys use and made an adapter piece to work with the whipple bracket is how I got mine to work. As far as the blower though, you either need to buy a different snout (according to whipple) so you can use a pulley from a lightning, or (what I did) was have a custom pulley made (per my design) to work with the 8rib IW stuff without changing the snout. I can have you one made if you want.
