Whipple 2.9L on a truck
Hey guys, finally after spending so much time reading over old threads, researching different combos, I have completed my 2.9L whipple swap on my 04 sierra rcsb 4x4. It feels good to finally be able to share some info as I have taken so much from here in the last few short years. Ok, so it really wasn't too bad of a swap. I was currently running an MP112 and it wasn't cutting the mustard so here we are. I talked to Mike at Whipple and he made me aware of a camaro tuner kit with the cathedral port intake manifold. I had to get a buddy to fabricate a new bracket to move my alternator over for clearance from throttle body and a new idler was also added. The kit I ended up with was pretty much a camaro kit so I had to buy new injector pigtails but they were about $5 each. A harness adapter for the 90mm LS3 throttle body was available from torque rush. I found the website through a forum member. No air intake was available so I made one from universal piping. Mike told me the stock pulley will make 13psi on a stock 5.3L. I will be surprised if it makes 8psi on this setup but we will see. I have run it briefly but it needs a tune and I should have some dyno results by next week. Here are some pics

This is exactly what I've been looking for, thank you so much for figuring it out!!! Please let us know what the results are.
How much compression is the engine? How big is big for your cam? Pump gas only or you gonna run meth?
Could you start the dyno as low as possible. I know this doesn't matter to many people (if any). But it's my main reason for FI (max power around 2000rpm) and I really wanted to know if this big of a compressor (on a 5.3) falls off hard towards idle.
Thank you very much for all your help, I can't wait to see what it puts down. Where do you think it will end up to the wheels, Do you think you'll see 500/500?
