Default Wastegate issues

2008 2500hd. 6.0 with s475. Made 776hp on the wheels with a shitty tune and too large of injectors. Switched those two things and now I can't seem to control my boost. I have a 44mm tial right before the t6 flange. Even with the 6psi spring I can get 20psi or more. I'm thinking the exhaust is going right past the gate due to its location? Cant hardly weld a larger gate there as there isn't room. Would it be dumb to put another gate on the same log, would still be in a position the air is going past not running into. Or other locations? Drivers side manifold is still the stock manifold so I cant hardly tap in there ether. Ill add a picture of where my gate is

What were you making for boost before? Just changing injectors shouldnt change boost something else had to change. Could it be a dumb little thing like the wastegate vacuum line being unhooked or on the wrong port?

Injectors and the tuning was changed. Was tuned at 16 psi.... but I know I had seen at least 18 on the poor tune. Previous owner had the gauge down by the the shift handle, with it in drive it pretty much covered the boost gauge. I moved it to the pillar so it could be watched better. Dropped it from the 11 psi gate pressure to the 6 psi spring even and it still gets crazy. Boost gauge, wastegate, blow off, regulator are all on the same port setup and everything else works.

Add another gate to the crossover. Everyone talks bad about the gate in the crossover but it works just fine. If you cant have the gate in great flowpath then just add another one.

I had found this image searching, looked to be a very easy and clean way to do it. Just wasn't sure if it actually worked. Was hoping to find some one who did it

Yes, That's one of my turbo kits and that's where I've put ALL my wastegates. It works great there! Literally 100's of turbo kits working well with this design.

Well I guess I'll go pick-up another 44mm today and put it in that spot. Now can I bump my springs back up with two gates then. I noted a serious spool difference having it with the 6 psi spring. Two gates opening at 15 should keep it there right?

Yeah, the wg starting to open at 6psi is going to significantly slow your spool. Keeping them closed till 15, it will spool much faster.
