Default turbo vs charger

hey guys,
just wanna start off by saying hey. Im new to the forums. I have a 2008 gmc sierra 1500 4x4 with a 5.3 in it and i was looking into getting a turbo or charger for it but cant really decide. I'm not looking for a $10 grand kit but something simple because i will be installing it. I'm looking for the best power gain for the money and pretty simple installation. STS and procharger where the two kits that were on my mine after doing a little research. Turbo whine is nice but if i can get more power out of a charger for the same price i will go with a supercharger.
Let me know what ya'll think. Thank ahead of time for the information.

welcome to the forums.. sound like u need a maggie.. tvs 1900.. gives good power through the rpm band and is a whole lot more simple to install than a turbo.

U can't make more power with a procharger vs turbo. I would look into a non intercooled turbo kit from bracing that will support your HP goals if you want to be under 600 , of your after more then you can get the intercooled kit.

Superchargers are going to be easier to install and less maintenance than a turbo setup.

I disagree with the 2nd part....you don't have to change oil in the turbocharger. It gets changed with the engine oil.

Oil change interval on a good blower is near 100k miles, which is far longer than most people keep their blowers, so I think you have a moot point.

My thoughts exactly, I would be thrilled to get half that mileage out of my turbo before it has to be rebuilt/trashed
