Default Turbo Exhaust

I know this has been discussed many million times, but I couldn't find the answer. Are there any exhaust systems out there that will bolt to the downpipe of KB/Trick front mount turbo with little or no modification? Or are you guys having to take your truck to an exhaust shop for a custom system? My downpipe will be 3.5" and I'm planning on putting a cutout and a cat in there somewhere as well.

I would like to have the exhaust system ready to bolt on at the same time as the turbo install so I'm not driving around with an open downpipe.

you can have vband welded to your down pipe, cutout and exhaust. a 3.5" dmax system will sound good.

If you want to weld a v-band to the downpipe, you'll need a flex joint behind it. Otherwise it needs to be welded in a shop where they can align everything. If you don't, the v-band probably won't seal.

So does the Duramax exhaust have the correct bends from the downpipe outlet to the back? I'm having a hard time vizualizing where where the downpipe exits. I haven't see any pics of this.

Any particular Duramax year, cab size, engine size to look for? I'm thinking of dumping the exhaust out the side in front of the rear tire like I do now.

Get the duramax exhaust for around the same year and same body style as you have. You will have to modify it some to make it work but it's not a huge headache. Any competent exhaust shop should be able to do it.

We purchased an MBRP set up cheap.
It all fitted pretty well. WE did have to modify the hanger height, since the diesel stuff is 3/4-1 ton, and there body sets higher then a 1/2 we were using. Not a big deal, just a little cutting and making their stock hanger rods shorter.
The pipe from the muffler to the the down pipe was little long, again going from an EXcab to a SB.
Then we did a 3 x 3.5 expander joint. 3 ID to 3.5 od. So it was a slipped over the DP and into the exhaust.
Weld the exhaust side, and use a 3" band clamp for slip fit.

You will want to add a hanger close to the front of the exhaust. Other wise its a long run from the turbo Vband, to that hanger in front of the muffler. This will keep the pull on the DP/turbo to a min.
