So does melted piston equal tuners fault? How do I find out what caused it to happen? Can I have the fuel injector tested to make sure its a 80# injector?

Tear it down, clean it thurally, and figure out what parts you need! I prolly have whatever you need! Get that thing back on the road.... Go wrap that piston around that "tooners" head...., if he won't give you any cash back.... And the go find a decent tuner! Hell my truck tune would prolly be okay for your truck! That **** really gets me going!!! When some jackass who has no business messing with something, that obviously he's not very good at, ***** something up and then blames it on something else! Smdh.... has he even tried to help you out in any way?

I just texted him this morning going to meet Wednesday or Thursday to discuss it. Hopefully he will pay for damage or at very least refund my money.

I will take a picture of the cylinder wall when i get to the shop it is melted as well and i am guessing its not reparable but not sure. So i am guessing i need a new block mine is a lc9 so its aluminum. Not sure there is to much damage other then that the valves over the bad piston have metal shavings stuck to them. Probably need replaced and heads gone through.

You can put a iron 5.3 back in it.... I'm gonna look around for a complete motor, I'll let you know what I find!

Just going to buy a reman motor that's here locally it's costing me to much money not having my truck. The big question is to turbo or not to turbo! Won't lie scared of trying again. $3,200 for the reman unbelievable amount of money down the drain.

So what do you think put the turbo back on?

Also before I pull the trigger on this reman. Do I have to put a lc9 back in? Is there a engine that does not have DOD and all that crap I can get in stead? Just wondering if it is a direct swap and can be rid of that stuff I would go for it. I'm even wondering if a 6.0 cost any more might check around.

Doesn't sound like the turbo was the problem, I'd use it again in a heartbeat...I would not however let the same guy touch it, get someone you can trust to get you a safe tune on there and roll, don't get hung up on max power.

I don't have much experience with this, but in my opinion I would find a 6.0, different tuner and tune it for like 8-10 psi and be done. I haven't read many people having issues with tuners and melting pistons. Sounds like a combination of bad tuner and the questionable injector o-ring and crazy mice.

And injectors not plugged all the way in, let's not forget that

$3,200 is sky high for my cheap ***

That's pretty close to being a "built short block engine" price.

I would hit up the local junk yards for a low or lower mile pull out 6.0 and do a VVT delete if you're willing to spend 3,200

Yes I would run the turbo again. I would go for a low boost mail order tune, and buy my own wide band
