I use the harbor freight engine lift. Its been good but the jack has started to bleed down so I have to have a helper keep pumping it with an engine hanging on it

Same problem. But mine started having issues after lending it out.
So now it has vise grips on the needle valve.
I also added a much long boom to it so we can reach out a lot farther.

What part of rapid shitty do u live in? I'm in boxelder and work on base. If I still had my hoist I would lend it to you. But if you come across any other weird tools you need I might have them.

Im out on sheridan lake rd. You ever here anything about o2 dynamics? Good or bad? Just wondering. I've needed to buy a hoist for a long time i always just jimmy somthing with a come along but that was for 4 cylinders. Glad harbor freight came to town sometimes cheap tools work out good.

In my very limited experience, your tuner (read tooner) is at fault. That's to say, I'm agreeing with Jordan.

The tooner's comment on the afr per cylinder is BS. Unless he had 8 WB's, there is no way to tell. I mean, it's not THAT difficult to tune this stuff but you HAVE to be careful.

The oil pressure comment is BS. So is the ring gap comment. There is one truck (if you look at the dyno forum) that is using an On3 kit making very very good HP on a stock bottom end. It's all in the tune.

I'm sorry this happened, I really am. I'd be willing to setup a gofundme page for you to help out.

I went through something similar last Sept. For whatever reason, #7 ran lean and put a hole in the piston. This was NA, no boost. I spent $4100 on a new 6.0 long block, that to be fair, is now out of warranty since I had the Whipple strapped to it.

edit

Here is the link to the thread with the turbo 4.8 on a completely stock bottom end, stock ring gap, stock head bolts.

If you tune by plugs then yes you can tell what holes are what

Also 7 doesnt run lean it runs hot, especially with rear ports blocked off

O2 Dynamics seems sketchy went with a buddy who was going to have him tune his new mustang Gt and the place seemed super ratchet right behind a taco bell haha. The guy kept claiming he could give rediculious power adds with just a tune like 20% or somthing retarded. So we left. Rapid diesel is pretty much the only other place in town I know of with a dyno. Im taking my mercedes during diesel dyno days in May and my roomate has taken his super charged Tacoma a couple times. They are pretty nice guys not sure if they would have much experiance with turbo gassers tho. Most of the guys I know in town with anything performance besides diesels ether drive to denver which is way to far or do email tunes like with BBP. I think mail order tune would be a good bet.

Don't even try any of the junk yards on the east side past cabelas and the mall. I go every once in awhile just to troll around and get out of the house. I asked the owner of one of them if he had any GM 6.0s or 5.3s and he said " What do those come in a mini van?" I said no the V8s from the 99 and up trucks and SUVs. he said "I try not to get tht crap GM has never makes anything worth salvaging" I asked how much they would be if he did get one and he said only $400 for a complete take out. But i have been looking for about 2 years and The only ones ive seen have been tahos with Gen3 5.3s but they say the motors are bad.

I think your best bet around here is find a beater work truck with bad trans or somthing that someone nailed a deer with and buy the entire vehicle.

Also if you get the harbour frieght hoist cheap you can resell it on Craigs list and come out positive. Got my 2 ton for like $125 on sale and then with a 20% coupon on top of that. 6 months later sold it for $150

On the good side might as well do a 6.0 swap now!

No, use the M10 holes in the front and back of the heads.
