TRICK PERFORMANCE or KB RACING

John,
Upgrading from your P-1SC impeller to the Superchargerrebuilds P-1 stage 2 impeller isn't going to flow the same. SR's impeller appears to be an upgrade from the P-1SC impeller but doesn't have the curved blades (turbo style) common on all the high HP/flow Prochargers. It's too bad they don't produce a boost map for these Centri's so you could compare them head-to-head.
P-1SC

SCrebuild's P1 Stage ll

An actual D-1SC

An F-1A

Just like on a turbo, the compound curves in the blades are the key to the flow. I've seen some Garrett turbos with upgrades impellers that have just a slight increase in the curve have a dramatic increase in the rate of flow.

Maybe I missed something Rick, but reread what you wrote. You say the SRB wheel DOESN"T have curved blades, the pic shows that it does, unless your talking about the blades that are laid over at the top.. I can just run a D1 wheel in the P1??

Here is food for thought on your KB/Trick delima.... Once the turbo header gets hot it looses it's strength considerably, With-out some type of support it will be hard to keep the manifold from cracking. I personally would go with the thickest material available for a log style manifold.
I cant believe you are finally pulling your head out and talking turbo!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!

I think the SCR P1-Stage ll would trap more air and outfolw the P-1sc impeller but I'm not convinced it would flow anywhere near the flow of a turbo style impeller like the D-1SC.
On another note, are talking about adding a "vent" to the P-1SC?

Sorry for not being more clear. The P-1SC and the SRB impellers blades are all perpendicular to the base. The D-1SC, all other high-flow Procharger impellers and generally all turbo impellers start perpendicular to the base and then curve to create a scoop (like a pinwheel) to trap the air and force it into the vane.

Ive used both for certain things, Trick has built 2 kits for me personally, so at this point it would be dumb for me to switch builders. And I have no reason to switch.
Ive used Kyle to source several things, as well as bought my turbo from him on the last build.

The roots blower we have played with all had a tiny vent hole in the top. Usually with a bronze stone filter so no dirt would get in. BnM 420 blower just had a tiny hole in the top.
Kept the expanding pressure inside the cover from pushing the seals.
I have only had 1 procharger, and 1 paxton (a looooong time ago) and cannot remember if they had the vent.
The new stuff not sure have not seen any vent hole in the blower I have here. ???

No vents in any of the modern roots, or centri blowers I am aware of.. Old school yes the Blower shop 871 I have does have a popet valve that will pop out if a backfire occur, a valve that is a release valve you manualy push, to relieve pressure.. I hope the vent works for me, again if it doesn't, turbo time..
