It's a new truck.
Let the engine get 50-100k. on it.
It will get worse.

My 2000 ford van with 175,000 miles blows that much out the exhaust every time I start it.

I remember the gm tech guy telling me on my 02 3/4 ton. it's normal to burn about a 1/2qt of oil ever 3-5k miles.
I was like what???

And what's that noise?
Piston slap. Lol

Piston slap is from having no piston skirts and when carbon builds up on pistons is when it make that noise from rocking in cylinder is what I was told by my GM world class tech. The fix is to put the acid cleaner in cylinders to clean carbon then slap goes away. I was like why do I have to do that all the time on a newer engine, to me its retarded
