Trick Catch can after 3000 miles. 2016 DI.
2016 5.3L. Engine has 15K on it.
This was after 3000 miles of highway driving. Truck is NA no boost yet. The catch can is installed in the pcv line. Thats too much for me, these newer engines w all this tech in them shouldnt be doing that. Just my opinion

I remember the gm tech guy telling me on my 02 3/4 ton. it's normal to burn about a 1/2qt of oil ever 3-5k miles.

Piston slap is from having no piston skirts and when carbon builds up on pistons is when it make that noise from rocking in cylinder is what I was told by my GM world class tech. The fix is to put the acid cleaner in cylinders to clean carbon then slap goes away. I was like why do I have to do that all the time on a newer engine, to me its retarded
