TrailBlazer SS : Procharger : Engine Comp Ratio Q's
#3
x2 on a D-1 the first time... You might run into belt slip issues trying to get that much boost out of a P-1 on a built motor. Someone else who has experience with a P-1 on a built setup can chime in on that. Also, I would look into doing a FMIC setup over the intercooler setup that comes with their kits. You can run your own piping, and buy an intercooler off ebay. I'm not sure what your bumper looks like or where you could mount it, but it should be more efficient and save you some cash all at once.

Im getting ready for my D1sc install on my Forged 370 at 9.3-1 CR. But for a NA truck with the 370 it pulls hard as hell. I asked myself the same question before when i was doing the build. Just depends on how much boost you want to run on pump gas before you have to start adding lots of meth.

I deffinitly agree with doing the D1SC up front. No point in spending the money twice. I am confused on why you'd want to use an iron block also. Using a Gen III block in a Gen IV will cost you almost as much as just using a Gen IV block in the first place. As for the compression I'd recomend around 10.2:1 up to 10.5:1. You'll still be able to run decent timing on pump gas and have room to run 12psi just fine down the road.

I already own the P-1SC-1. The D-1SC would be an upgrade down the road, but not at the moment.
The only reason I brought up the D1 is that I would eventually upgrade to it, keeping in mind it is a $1200 or so cost thru Procharger.
Thanks for the comments so far, I appreciate the input.
370 iron is how I decided to go based on my budget available and zero downtime.
Thanks,
-Mike

What's nice is you can raise the comp ratio if you went back to 243 heads...hmm not bad.
Well as far as being sold, until I ship it out it still has a 50/50 chance of going on

Thanks for the input, I do definitely agree with D-1 out of the gate. And that may still happen---
Thanks again.
