Those running STS in stock form - question
#1
For those of you running a stock STS setup (the basic kit, 6psi, etc). Are you getting good reliability out of the rest of the drivetrain? I've heard from other STS people about drivetrain problems... but most were on other vehicles, and they were also running a bit more boost, running at the track often, etc.
I don't plan on doing track runs, etc... just want to make the truck a bit more fun on the street, and help with some towing. Wanna make sure I'm not looking at potential drivetrain issues before I need to.
Feedback?

All I did and I highly recommend to anyone installing a STS, is a shift kit (with no washers in the 1-2 accumulator) and a vette servo. I run my truck pretty hard and has held up strong for almost 25,000 miles and for about a year and a half now at 7 psi. I just recently upped the boost to 10 psi in high setting, but don't use it too often.

recommend the regular tranny upgrades that everyone does but stock wont last long for you...you will get a taste of the boost and will want to up the boost pretty quick...it's very addicting that boost stuff is....

I already have a supercharged car, and a motorcycle... so doubt I'll need to crank the boost up on a heavy truck
What are the "standard tranny upgrades" you are speaking of?
I'm interested in how the kit does on the stock drivetrain.

In my option, if your braking hard parts, your not slipping the clutches enough, and if your burning up clutches, your slipping them to much. Kind of a catch-22
It's kind of a fine line, but it seems to be working for my truck. FWIW, Thunder550 put my shift tables in his radix truck and then broke his input shaft and then his out put shaft, but I haven't broke a thing. With my tables in his truck, the way the trans was built, it made the subs thump on pretty much every shift
where they are just firm in my truck. Maybe I'm lucky, or it's the way I drive, or maybe its the diff from a turbo to a supercharger, IDK. All I know is my truck is putting about 425 or so to the ground and has hasn't had a issue "yet" with the tranny.
