I am going to get a longer hose for the fuel gauge so I can tape it to my window so I can see what the fuel pressure is doing while I drive the truck. I just finished pulling the valve covers and checked for broken springs and everything looked good, I went ahead and re-adjusted the rocker arms just to be sure that was not the problem. Tomorrow my new spark plugs and wires should arrive. I will also be changing the fuel pressure regulator as Blownchevy recommended. Hopefully one of those will fix my problem? Does anybody think that my problem could be the tune?

any luck figuring things out? Also how do the cal tracs work with the hotchkis tvs system? The rear sway bar doesnt get in the way?

thanks

Well I have an update, When I hooked up the 200 amp alternator I ran a 4 gauge power wire from the alternator to the red box but I put the terminal on the post first and then put the other terminal on top of that which made that bracket a 12 volt source which would cause spikes in the voltage which might have been the cause for the miss? I also re-adjusted the rocker arms and changed spark plug wires and took it for another test drive and the miss I felt and heard before is gone! I finally got a WOT run. The bad news is the scan was still showing some missed revs and the knock retard was up as high a 7.85. Does anybody know what the knock retard should be? I am going to change my plugs because when I installed them the first time I didnt know I had to regap the TR6's to .035, So basically the TR6 plugs I have in my truck are gapped at .039. Once I get that changed I will do a WOT scan and post it on here. I still might have a fuel pressure issue but I need to get a longer hose so I can monitor while I drive. I will be getting a dyno tune in the near future aswell. Even though my truck has a couple of problems I am very impressed so far.

2003 and back have different fuel systems than the 2004 and up. 50psi at idle is normal and fuel pressure should rise as load on the engine increases.

Nice to see the miss disappeared Brad. Good job scanning your drive cycles. Do be careful with the knock retard as the pistons are alergic to detonation at high loads
I bet the dyno tune sorts out some of the other issues.

Good luck and thanks for keeping us posted on your progress.

Does anybody know how much boost I should have with my setup? I will hook up the boost gauge tonight to find out what boost I am getting. Just so I have this right, I tap into the vaccum hose from the fuel pressure regulator?

I have another problem, I just took my truck for another test drive with the boost gauge installed and I am only getting 3 pounds of boost at WOT. The vacuum reads about 18-19 pounds when the truck is idling. Does anybody have any suggestions? Could this be a fuel problem? I still need to change the Fuel Pressure Regulator, other than that I dont know what to do. Help!
