I wouln't even prime it unless you took it to bare metal... Just dust the first few coats of paint till it builds up other then heavy coats, it will look better and be a better and stronger finish..

Itll be black. The reason I primed it is to get a good heat seal so it doesnt hurt the finish. But I saw some white flameproof VHT paint hmmmmm. Painted to match supercharger anyone.
