Taking apart a Maggie
#21
The nose and the j tube on mine was sealed with some kinda sealant. It was a clearish bright red and very gooie. Then theres the very bottom of the maggie the part youll need to remove to get to the internal H/E. It was sealed by a rubber gasket that sat in its own groove and every bolt hole has it own rubber gasket they also had there own groove. Be careful when you pull the bottom apart the gasket for the bolt holes like to stick to the upper manifold.

I wouldn't powder coat it with it together.. It has oil and such in there and and from the heat needed to cure it might cause problems with leaking oil out during the cure process.. As far as taking it apart thats up to you. I would sand or just scuff the surface up good, tape off the rest and pain it with some good quality paint...

i know its kinda late, but Grip totally dissected the MP122 that's on my truck now. There are alot of pics on his build thread of when he reassembled it and the tediousness involved.
