I read that superchargers under boost roughly use from 75hp to 150hp and more to spin. Of course they help produce a lot more than that. A 100hp electric motor weighs about 800lbs. From these numbers one can see why an electric supercharger is just not feasable.

Somebody posted that a while back on another board and I read about it. It claims 1psi of boost or an upgrade to 1.5psi of boost. Electric or not....a compressor is a compressor and if it can get 1psi of boost then depending on a bunch of characteristics of your type of engine you could probably have 0 to 20hp. Most likely...you could end up with about 10hp out of that thing.

Now the question is, is that unit large enough to actually take a 400hp engine from vacuum into a 1psi boost state or is it just gonna send parts of 1psi air fragments into the engine? I don't care to try it but it might give a JetChip a run for its money. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is one that "works". It uses an additional battery and 3 starter motors to turn an Eaton twin screw charger. It will produce 100hp at 6psi......for 15seconds. After that the starters and battery overheat and need to cool down. Also the battery needs to recharge. Electric motors are very inefficient. A lot of the energy just produces heat.

Electric turbo?
I was wondering if this could possibly work? and can you increse the psi? I'm thinking 30 dollars is not too much money to throw down the toilet.
