i have a 5 speed now why would i change it just mind as well change it to a 6 speed

 

or a 4L80E

the only 8.6 10bolts ive seen break were behind a T56... they dont like the shock from a speed shift.

Im not tryin to steer you away, just wanted to see what your reasons were.

what gear ratio do you have?

 

im running 3.73 but if i do the swap im going to 4.56
