You need to reroute that belt and change the pulley configuration. Also a guy on ebay will cut the belt surface area of the pulley just like the R racing pulleys.

Also I am fairly sure I am running a 3.4 pulley, no markings on it.

Going to bump this, no sense in making a new thread. So I've got the 8 rib swap complete. Seems to be fine except that the belt slips now, ironically enough. I bought a Gates K081124 113" belt initially just from comparing how the old 6 rib belt fit and it was a bit too short...couldn't push it onto the pulley. I got the next step up, the K081145 115.125" to replace it. And now it slips. That step up is 2.125"...wtf?? Is there nothing in between? Maybe another manufacturer that makes a 114" 8 rib belt?

Dayco makes a 5081145

It's a 114.5 and the info can be found in this sections stickies.

That one is about the same as the gates belt. I guess they prefer to use outside circumference on their belt list. Effective length is the same though, so I'll need something shorter. I'll sniff around in the stickies...

Hmm ya I guess that is the same as the gates belt... Sucks they all jump size like that, might have to play with idler sizes.

There is a Goodyear belt with an effective length of 113.4". Might give that a shot. Right in between the Gates sizes.
