Linda, I'll be sending you the rest of the money this weekend so maybe you can get it going.

Sounds good Vernon, I got two boxes in the garage ready to go. I was going to try and send them out this week, but i ended up going to South Dakota for work. The 2 boxes i have in there will definately go out by Saturday, the other one or two will go out shortly after. I have not been waiting on full payment, i trust you....i just have not got enough time to pack everything up and get it ready to go. Did i mention if you get it working....i dont want to know about it?....LOL.

Nah...i have made my mind up to just get the Whipple I/C and be done with it.....just got to save up a few more pennies. That sucker cost almost $2000, got to figure a way to smuggle that out of the bank account without the woman seeing it. I think im going to open a new checking account just for my truck...LOL....seriously. Just put like $100 a week in there and use it for my truck and other misc. things that come up. That way i have no splainnin to do lucy!
I think the dmax I/C will cool better than the whipple.

I know for a fact it will, and did! I just couldnt get the ECT's under control. The IAT's were phenominally low. They never got above 125* after WOT runs in 100* ambient temps with high humidity. The best i am hoping for with the Whipple is around 130*-140* when ambient temps are above 85*. I dont expect it to be even close to what the Dmax I/C gave me....but it sure will be better than 220* when ambient temps are 85*. That just plain sucks! What idiot ever said the Whipple doesnt need an I/C because it doesnt build up enough heat to effect anything? I would like to have a talk with that gentleman. I hope i never said that...LOL.

Diesel doesn't need as big of radiator as a gasser. The reason being is diesel run a leaner A/F causing less combustion temp. With less heat loss in the engine, a smaller radiator is needed. There is a great article in Diesel Power about the pros & cons of diesels that explains this.

Thanks TieRod. I wish i could have made a way for my 8.1L radiator and the Dmax I/C to work together, but the 8.1L was just to wide to fit between the inlet/outlet of the intercooler.

DO you think the blower is a little small for an 8.1, and might be working hard ,causing all that heat?

That would mean that it is too small for a 6.0, also.

I think it's too small, but it's all we got. I was all physched up to build a Miller Cycle 8.1 with my Whipple until I found out I would be lucky to see 10 lbs. of boost. I will pulley the blower to max out at the engine's redline and let the boost fall where it may.

well, its a 2.3L...it is a little small for the 8.1 i think, considering in order to see 10lbs you would need a 2-3/8" pulley.....lol. That is of course you have stock pipes, heads, and intake. I have a 2-3/4" pulley making 7lbs right now. You would need a pulley about the size of a nickle to get 15lbs i think. Kenne bell has the 2.8L coming out soon i think.
