LMAO...now that we have Wilde's problem fixed, back to me...LOL. Anyone who knows anyone with an 8.1L intercooled whipple setup that has logged IAT's, please send them my way. Thats probably like asking for Jesus Christ to stop by for a pizza and beer to watch the game, but we will see.

Tom Byrne had a 2500 Suburban with an 8.1 that he put an intercooled Whipple on. He was one of the early buyers of that kit and had to sort through a HEAP of problems with PCM limp mode. He's a busy guy these days but I would guess he could probably offer some advice.

I wonder if he was doing any programming or logging at the time. I will give him a shout and see if he has any info. Thanks James.

I was told that the meth kit would lower temps between 40 and 60, mine has lowered the temps 50-59 degrees so I am thrilled.

I had to constantly worry about overheating with the Dmax radiator, and thats the part that sucked. I was seeing cruising IATs of 108* on 100* days and WOT IATs of 125* on 100* days. Its was fantastic, just couldnt control the ECT's for the life of me.
Check the dieselplace site and check out the v2 rad mod it is an overheating fix for the LLY duramax. You might be able to use that with the max rad/ic

Yea, I have seen that too, but rather than sinking another $1000 into a fix for a "MOD", i would rather just go for the tried and true way of doing it. I would not have thought the Dmax radiator would have trouble cooling my engine. I mean it cools (or tries to...lol) the big diesel, why wouldn't it cool the 8.1L? Nah...i have made my mind up to just get the Whipple I/C and be done with it.....just got to save up a few more pennies. That sucker cost almost $2000, got to figure a way to smuggle that out of the bank account without the woman seeing it. I think im going to open a new checking account just for my truck...LOL....seriously. Just put like $100 a week in there and use it for my truck and other misc. things that come up. That way i have no splainnin to do lucy!
