I hope the whipple cooler works good for ya. I'm alittle suprized that the duramax cooler sucked.........
No! The Dmax intercooler was great, but i had to use it in conjunction with the Dmax radiator. The Dmax radiator would not keep the ECT's below 200* even with the 160* stat in there. The 8.1L radiators keeps my ECT's at a constant 167* no matter what the ambient temps are or whether the A/C is on or not. I had to constantly worry about overheating with the Dmax radiator, and thats the part that sucked. I was seeing cruising IATs of 108* on 100* days and WOT IATs of 125* on 100* days. Its was fantastic, just couldnt control the ECT's for the life of me.

I can vouch for that also. I have been in his truck with ambient temps in the low 90's and the AIT were in the 50's

Holy crap! Now that may be worth doing. I have never heard of anything getting IATs below ambient other than a chiller box on an A2W intercooler. Thats nuts! What kind of meth injection is it? Got any pics?

This is were my Intake temp sender is at....
It is a ALKY CONTROL kit, I'm not sure on the nozzle size, but I have the pump come on at 2 psi and ramp up as fast as posable. I go through a lot of meth.....

It looks to me like your spraying meth right at the intake temp sensor, maybe that is why your temps looks so low.

alright...i remember now,phew..the alcohol haze. so let me get this right via your pic, your IAT sensor is about 8" downstream from your ALKY nozzle. Hmmm, ofcourse it's gonna go 40* lower, you are soaking the sensor goober.

Obviously my IAT's aren't no 90* but that's because my sensor is in my radix, much further downstream and in a freaking metal housing at that . I agree with ya 100% that meth is a KICK *** solution to kr, more timing, a more powerful setup, but you are getting away with more timing simply due to the meth's properties. IMO that IAT is to close to the jet to give you a correct idea of what you are dealing with as far as IAT's go. Make sense? You are gonna gain timing from the meth regardless of IAT's, just the beauty of meth. Don't get me wrong, getitng the IAT's down is helpful as well and with your jet right at the TB like that, you are certianly helping to lower your IAT's, I just don't know about the 40* in relation to actual internal air temperature.

Ever see one of these jets spray? check out my jet and tell me what you think your IAT sensor looks like during a WOT blast.

Sensor test

Just my opinion, not worth much during school lunch and we are trading for PB&J's.

yea that make sence to me too. I wonder how far back I would have to move the meth nozzle to get a good reading?
