You think a 3.0 is safe along with a dyno tune? What should i see from that 8-9 lbs?
Sure it would be safe, with a good tune. Stock pistons etc, seem to hold up pretty well to anything under 10psi. Some actaully run 12psi on a stock engine but, maybe they dont mind breaking something. I think you'd see 8psi on a 3" pulley. I have a LQ4 with a 2.75", I only see 7psi but that because of my cam and LT's. You should stick with the 3.3" for awhile and enjoy it. Once the power starts to feel normal, then move down a pulley size or 2. Just make sure you have it tuned right then or else bad things could happen at WOT

welcome to the boost club. Say goodbye to your money, friends, job, and spare time. I suggest you weld that pulley on somehow, otherwise here will be your thread topics in the upcoming months.....

1. How much rwhp will a x.xx pulley give me
2. Should i get a dyno tune?
3. I layed down xxxrwhp!! time for a new pulley.
4. IAT's are a little high, Should i get a larger Xchanger for my intercooler?
5. Which meth injection do you guys run
6. WOW. IATs are way down now, time for a smaller pulley.
7. How much PSI can my stock bottem end handle?
8. I hear a rattling noise?!?
9. How much does a 408 long block cost?
10. new engine is in! How much boost can i run on this sucker?

Funny thing is that I already have a 3.0 pulley waiting, i am trying to decide between two tuners locally, i was curious about meth, and already am looking for a larger intercooler. The 4l80e is my next big project then the 408. You read my mind....

My mods when I did that pull were,

Radix, 3.0 pully, Nelson tune, stainless works long tubes, true dual 3" exhaust w/ high flow cats X pipe and two 18" mufflers, 180 t stat, msd wires, K&N FIPK, built 80e w/ 2800 stall. It was getting about 7.5-8 #s of boost.

The track times were on the stock 20 inch goodyears so they arent that great.

I havent had any problems with the 3.0 pully other than belt slip and spinning my crank pully. You should be fine as long as you get a good tune for it.

Do you have a crew or an EX cab? I will be pinning my crank pulley as soon as I get the stuff.

I hope not to have much belt slip with the new 100mm idler pulleys but we will see.
