Default problems with smaller pulley?

I was wondering what problems could I encounter if I changed my pulley size from 3.3 to 3.1 or even 3.0. I got a 03 Escalade with the LQ9 6.0 H.O. motor, with headers and exhaust, and I think tuning (not sure cause i just bought te Escalade like this already with no info on the mods from the dealership). Ohh yeah I got the MagnaCharger supercharger. I read up and found that the Escalades came with the 3.3 pulley because of the already high compresion as oppose to the Denali. I think the Denali kit comes with the 3.1 pulley.

I have Silverado SS with the same engine. I run a 2.9 pulley and get about 8.5psi at redline. I did, however hurt my engine(has 60K on it), but it was my fault. There are lot's of people on SilveradoSS.com running 3.0 and smaller with no problems. If you are gonna do the smaller pulley you will need a custom tune and definately get a dyno tune. You shouldn't have and problems as long as you are "nice" to the transmission. By nice I mean no hard kickdowns...they kill the tranny faster than anything.

Gee - you run a 0-60 time within 0.2 seconds of a guy in a 1000 lb (including driver) heavier vehicle and he has to rush out and buy a smaller pulley. BlownEscalade is gonna want a 1 inch pulley once I get my new tune.

See ya soon neighbor - be safe on the way home!

so if I got it tuned to the 3.1 or 3.0 pulley it would still be almost as reliable as my 3.3 stock pulley? Well exept the tranny? I just have to stay 2 steps ahead of BlownDenaliXl. We have neighbour wars here.
Even though I wanna blow BlownDenaliXl away, I still wanna have a dependable vehicle especially on the highway. That's where most of my driving is.

Save your money for your deck pal - I am going to let my wife drive, and the 150 lbs that saves will more than offset any pulley reduction you try out.

I don't know why this did not come to me sooner, I am sick of eating salad all the time trying to lose weight!
