Picking up a "backup" engine and rebuilding it with boost in mind.

The piston/rod ratio of the 4.8 makes it more resistant to detonation than the other LS engines, which is significant when looking for these power goals on a stock motor. By newer I mean 07+, they will come with 243's/799's qnd the newer internal parts. I wouldn't depend on methanol at this power level, your probably going to need around 18lbs of boost or more to hit 700 on the corn itself. Probably more on pump w/meth, if anything happened to your meth kit it would all be over pretty quick at that boost level. Not sure on the rod length.

It looks like I'm find 07+ 4.8's in the 700.00-1000.00 range. That's with 80K miles or less on them.
Is the throttle body on newer 4.8 bigger than the one on my 5.3?
I think this is the route I'll go someday.
I already have:
4L80E
SC3000 stall
NP149
P1SC
LS1 efans
HPTuners
...and a bunch of little thing I'm forgetting.
I just put my p1sc kit up for sale on Craigslist. I actually need the money for taxes, but eventually I am planning on a stage 4 turbo kit from Trick Performance.
What should I do for injectors and fuel supply?

After a lot of reading on this site, my plans have changed. I've sold my P1SC kit and have pieced together a turbo kit. It's basically a KB racing it.
I have a ls6 cam and a new set of lifters. I'm sort of at a cross road. I think to be on the safe side, I should put in head studs. I can't do this with out pulling the engine. I should also probably swap in ls9 head gaskets. I have to remove the heads to put in my new lifters anyway.
So now I'm wondering if I should find me an 07+ 4.8L and put head studs, ls6 cam, my new ls6 lifters, and ls9 head gaskets on that. While its on the stand, I could look into gaping the rings and possibly adding arp rod bolts.
I guess what I'm wondering is how much of a straight forward swap is it? I'm sure physically it'll be no big deal, but I've read that there's a difference between the reluctor wheel?
I'm not sure what all the little differences are. Would there be any problem controlling it with my 2000 ecu? I have HPTuners and am planning on learning how to tune for myself.
I like the idea of just pulling my stock engine out and storing it. That way I have my original engine as a back up.
