Default O2 placement

so for the people with front mounts. where did yopu put your passenger O2 sensor? the driver side is in the crossover pipe right after the manifold. but what about passenger side? looking for opinion and the reason you did it your way.

when i was using stock o2's i ran the pasenger one in the down pipe. it doesn't seem ideal since the pasenger side is seeing both banks but the 02's still corrected to 14.7-1 on the wideband.

so in thi picture would you put it before or after the wastegate on the down pipe? the wide band instructions said to make sure the wide band is so many inches from the turbo to keep from over heating the sensor. is it the same for stockers? i know the tune will be set by the wideband so wot runs shouldn't be hurt by stock O2 pacement just normal driving. am i right in the assumption?

All in all anywhere in the DP will be fine. You will always be seeing both banks on that sensor. Just no way around it. Just attach the sensor to the wires on the truck, you will be limited on its location due to wire length, and chassis layout. This is one reason we leave that sensor bung up to the end user to install.
Just make sure its removable with all parts attached, it sucks having to losen a pipe just to get a sensor out.
Another thing is to use antisieze that is recommend for o2 sensor or sensor safe.
So you getting ready to start the install. ????

if all goes well this weekend we will begin the install. i have everything besides vacuum line and a piece of 3" exhaust pipe. do you recomend orange or black rtv for gaskets on the turbo and such? i have some gaskets that came with the turbo. they are stainless i believe.

Typically you don't want to put an O2 in the crossover pipe since the backpressure while under boost will throw off the readings. I've also seen O2 sensors placed in the crossover pipe broken off inside tube; any debris like that can't be good for the turbo.

WBO2 manufacturers will usually have advice on sensor placement and usually it's at least 24" downstream of the turbo (in the downpipe).

Also, be sure the sensor doesn't sit "upside down". It should be located on the top-half of the pipe to prevent condensation from collecting in the sensor and reduce its longevity...

I basically put the sensor in dp where it could easily reach to. the WB sensor I put on my slip fit connector on the exhaust pipe.

HI temp orange/copper that is o2 safe. But I will always try the gaskets first and if they fail then silicone it. Now the gate gasket I know will not fail..

Stock narrow band don;t have a problem being in the crossover and pressure side of the turbo system as they aren't used for WOT fueling any way. this is where I put all my passenger side o2's. Seems to be working good so far. My WB is in the down pipe about 12-14" after the turbo.

You can see both in this pic

so basically just put the stocker in the down pipe where it will fit well and be reached easily but bot where it can be reached by condensation. and just follow the WBO2 instruction for its installation. its harness can reach pretty far back. right now its in the spot of the stock bank 2 sensor 2.
