Default need help with stall magnacharger 230/232 cam?

I have a 07nnbs rcsb it has a magnacharger with stock pulley and a 230-232 595/585 futral cam it has a level v rpm trans with a precision industries 3-disk 2400 stall. truck has stock 3.73 gears and will very soon have 275-30-24 tires. Trucks best 60 foot time with denali factory 20 inch wheels is 2.01 and dosn't spin at all, really dosnt pull very hard until it gets going then it gone. I know it needs a bigger stall speed and maybe gears but how big of a stall should I have them restall it to. Any Input? I don't drive everyday but want to be able to if I have to. Really just drive on weekends. Thanks

That's way more cam than you want on a radix-ized truck. You're leaving a lot on the table power wise and drivability wise. With that cam, you need a whole lot more stall and a whole lot more gear. I wouldn't know where to start.

I would never install a converter with more than a 2400 stall speed.

The beauty of the radix system is that it makes mad power down low in the rpm range. The cam you have makes power 3500 rpm and up. Total mismatch. Your blower is running out of breath before your cam allows your setup to make power. Do you have a boost guage? I'd bet you're way down on boost with that cam. It may eventually make similar power as a milder cam, but the power is too high in the rpm range......way up there where you seldom go in a street truck.

I have just about that exact same cam in an LS3 (6.2L) vette. It weighs around 3K vs. the 4.5K of your truck. Also a manual 6speed, 4.10 gears, and much shorter tires. I'm jerking it out for a milder cam with better driveablitly. Tired of the high idle, surging, and poor fuel eco. The extra power from 4000 up is nice, but I don't spend a whole lot of time at those rpm's.

Save the money you'd spend on gears and converter. Find you a cam out of an '02 thru '04 Z06 vette. They can be had for $100 or less. Do a search. There's quite a bit of info about that cam to be had. Add that cam and you'll be able to roast you tires at will. Idle will smooth out, mpg will go up, and your truck will be a whole lot more fun to drive. No need for higher stall and gears. The only thing you'll miss is the mean idle. Add long tubes and a full 3" exhaust if you don't already have them. If you need the noise, get you a set of loud mufflers, or better yet, a set of quiet mufflers and electric exhaust cutouts. At least, with that, you can shut the noise off when you get tired of it.

Many on here run the Lingenfelter GT2-3 cam.

It's been thoroughly discussed many times here. The concensus seems to be GT2-3 may be a slight favorite over the '02 - '04 ls6. Both are great for your application...one is cheaper and plentiful. Good luck to you!
