Last time I pulled off my J-tube I noticed a little oil. I've never added any oil to the truck between changes. Wasn't really worried about it.
Finally got around to putting a little catch can on it. Got it from Jegs'. Can't say that I would recommend it. After getting it on I heard a little hiss. Put my hand around the bowl and it stops. Anyway put some sealer on the bowl threads and wrapped it up with electrical tape to get it to stop.

Got home today from work. One trip to and from work with a good pull through second gear at lunch got me this.

One thing I noticed while installing it. The PCV valve in the valve cover doesn't have anything in it. Not poppet, no spring, nada.... Is that the way they are?

I just changed my PCV today too... Mines got a check valve in it. I need a catch can myself... I put a breather on the pass side valve cover but its still pushing a little oil under boost. I've got my eye on one from Summit...
its similar to that one, just a size bigger I believe...

Yes they do suck.... literally. A lot!
I've looked a various PCV systems... and am a bit embarrassed that I don't understand such a simple system. Do I need to put another can for the line into the passenger valve cover?

Its run into the intake tube before the TB. So yeah should be pulling air from the intake tube at low loads and high manifold vacuum. But under load and no manifold vacuum I think it would then flow from the engine into the intake? Thats part of what I don't understand.
