Default Methanol Power gains?

hey guys. i just ordered my devils own stage 1 kit. i was wondering. if i just bolt it on will it give me some added power? i know it will cool down the intake charge but will it give me like 10 or 15whp? im gonna tune the fuel side only on my FMU since i dont have HPTuners yet.

was just wondering what i can expect. thanks.

if your tune is currently pulling timing due to the higher IAT's or kr, then sure...you'll get some extra spark that you normally wouldn't have. So, theoretically..yes.

if its 90* and i have the methanol in an Ice tray and freezing cold. just being colder do you think it will help with power?

also would the SES be on if it was retarding timing or would i have to use a scanner to know if that happening??

and should i put the IAT sensor after the methanol nozzle?

The added power is going to come from allowing more advance due to cooler IAT's and increased Octane level with the Meth.
I dont think chilling the Meth will do anything for ya!

The SES light should not come on if the PCM pulls timing. From my understanding, this is something that happens all the time with radix adn high IAT's. You would need a scanner to see if timing is being pulled.

The IAT sensor would have to b after the meth nozzle, as downstream as possible. If you have the sensor before the nozzle, the pcm would not know if the air is being cooled or not. It would think the air coming in is hotter than it acutally is.

so if the IAT sensor isnt behind the alchy nozzle it wont do any good other then raise octane and aid with fueling?

NO if you just bolt it on you will gain little or maybe lose power like I did, For me it never cooled the intake charge, I have a super charged 5.3 and was ready to trash it and came on here and some good people got me headed in the right direction, First they said alky does NOTHING on it's own without tunning for it, It lets you run more boost and more timing, Higher octane on pump gas without KR so you make more HP, I just had a dyno run the other day and have the papers in front of me, 1st. pull with alky off and 2nd with alky on. No other change, I picked up 49 rwhp and 19 pounds of torque with the alky on, Really shouldn't run it at all without the alky on when you tune for it but just wanted to know how much it picked up, I still need to fine tune, Oh also helped to put a 5,080lb. truck in the mid 12's

I have run meth on my blazer before with the Front mount.

With that stock p.o.s. poppet injector setup. I ran 14 psi with the meth making up the diffrence for the lack of fuel. I was at 110% IDC and running my meth nozzle to 100% coming in at 3 psi of boost I was able to maintain a 11.8 AFR for one quarter mile pass with 100 octane sonoco.

Your best bet is to back down the FMU a little bit becuase if you attempt to make it to fat with the FMU you won't see the gain from the meth.

It was hard to say there was a clear gain because I went from 9 psi to 14 So there was a huge gain but also a huge jump in boost.

you need to do a 2114 on that thing and stop throwing other parts at it. You do the intake and injectors you can count on making more power without playing around.

just my .02
