how were you running so much boost? That's odd. The smallest pulley will only get you 10ish. hmmm.

I have no idea....

We were suprised.. I mean the boost gauge coulda been reading Inaccuratly..

But Justin (yellowsierra) have a I guess 2.75 or somewhere around there pulley made and he was running ?13-14? on his 5.7.. So I was guessing around 15-17 on a 5.3 or 4.8

Boost isn't an accurate meaure of maxing out a blower or making power. Boost is restriction. I could make 15psi with a whipple on a 4.8 if it had tiny heads, valves, stock manifolds and exhaust. Will that make more power than a whipple (with the same pulley), nice flowing heads and exhaust, and a properly spec'd cam. No, and the latter setup will result in less boost.

If you're concerned about maxing out your whipple then step up to the 3300AX.

Definently..... You will probably have to get the pulley made for that..

Contact "Ironworker" he bought my whipple from me.... He has a pulley that Yellowsierra had made.... It should be good for that!!

whipple's are only made for 16k rpm....at 12 lbs of boost you actually making all the boost you can. A buddy of mine and fellow ls1tech'r ranwalk is maxing out his whipple making 21k rpm....thats w/ a custom pulley so yes you can max out a whipple

And if he had to make a pulley to do that, did he make an even smaller one that did not increase the boost? How do you know he was maxing it out?
