Default Magnuson TVS2650 on built 5.3L

I find that this forum has a lot more people that hop up 5.3L engines and I am looking for some input. I am swapping an aluminum block, forged crank, rods, pistons into an older car and the plan was to do a turbo. But honestly, the hot side plumbing is a bit of a nightmare. The goal with the turbo was about 850HP at the crank on e85. The heads are stock 799 castings with ARP head studs and the Summit "Ghost" cam.

The other day I had a thought to run a blower. I happen to really like the Magnuson blower kits. Since I have cathedral port heads, I would run the ICT billet adapters and use one of the LSA replacement TVS2650 "HotRod" kits...

That said, can I make the same power level with this blower? Any input is appreciated.

You don't need a 2650 for 850 crank. Yes, you can make similar power with a blower vs a turbo but the power curves are way diffrent. I'd just get the 1900 kit and not have to use adaptors. Get the tuner kit and have them delete the pulley so you can get a grip tec and injectors so you can save the money for some 1000cc+. 850 crank shouldn't be problem on E85 with a 1900 you will probally need to bore and or stroke it to make 850 crank with a blower though.

Anything over 500-600hp to the tire will just smoke them anyway, I don't think you should really be dead set on that 850 number.

If I was going to bore and stroke a 5.3L, I would just buy the LSX376B15 and make 1200HP...

Traction will be an issue no matter what, that wasn't the point of my question.

If anyone has direct experience with a 2300 or a 2650 on a 5.3L, please chime in...

Andrew. I currently have a forged/stroked 5.3. Which puts it at a 6.3L engine. Compression is 10.5 and i am running trick flow gen x 225 heads and a TVS 2300. I am on E85, meth, and 102mm throttle body. CAm is Texas speed .600 228/232 @114. Im putting down about 700 hp at the tires which I’m sure is easily 850 crank power. The 1900, 2300 and 2650 are all capable of getting you there but you need pay attention to how you are spinning the blower and keeping it in it’s efficiency range. The 1900 will hit harder off idle but if you spin it too high it will get out of its efficiency range. The 2650 can be spun harder but will be more lazy feeling off idle. I agree that 850 crank is achievable with a 1900 or 2300 with supporting mods but it’s a max effort on both blowers. Check into the boost district 2650 which has a tub and spacers for the cathedral port heads and is a roots style blower. This is 1000 hp capable and super efficient

I have had a max effort 5.3 that I put 55k miles on that made about 800 crank. So I've been there and done it...

Now, I have a 408 with the same 1900 making at least 850 crank. I was going to help you out but with that jack *** attitude of yours you can go kick rocks...

The top comment especially, 99% of people who say **** like that have zero to very minimal knowledge and then get offended when some of the senior guys try to teach them a thing or two.

Just tryin to help bud.
