MAF out of range causing bad idle sometimes. My tuner recommended a maf extender then re-tune. What are you guy's doing for this problem??

Get rid of the MAF and run a Speed Density tune.

whoah whoah, slow down...your maf is out of range at idle? wtf. No reason to dump the maf if you are not blowing it at WOT imho. Speed density isn't necessary or right for every one who has maf issues. The maf is a good system, if you aren't maxing it.

Hmmm yeah I missed the idle part. I agree with dewey, no need to go SD if it's not maxing at WOT.

I think it is maxing at WOT and then getting confused at idle and kinda hunting around for proper air mixture.

With a 5.3L setup as he has he should just barely be maxing it, but not nearly bad enough to go speed density. If you are having problems like that it sounds like your tuning has some issues.
