Default In Line Oil Filter?

Has anyone tried it on the return side of a remote mount turbo?

Don't really think it would be necessary, there's not that much oil flowing there and it's dumping into the pan, where it will be filter before being pumped though the motor again anyway. And there is only 2 small bearing, that could fail and cause contamination of the oil and that's not really enough to cause any engine damage.

My oil pump is on the return side of the turbo and it set up to pump the oil up and into the valve cover. I like the idea of dumping back into the oil pan better though. I'll have to look into it. I found a kit for $35 bucks on summit so I thought it might be some cheap insurance. Are there many parts in my in line oil pump that risk coming apart if it fails?

If you using a STS kit, then the only thing in it is 2 counter rotation gears, and if the pump fails, what's going to push the parts back into the motor? Even dumping the oil in the valve cover, it just runs down into the pan. Never comes into contact with critical area like bearings and such.
