The clamps started to deform the silicone couplers and every day I had to re tighten for fear that the piping will come apart. Eventually they ripped. The 4 plys din not loose any torque.

I just order all my stuff from Billy, got all t-bolts, and will only be using one silicone elbow. With the size of the elbow and having the piping in it there is no way for it to physically colapse on mine so.... hopefully all is good. Just waiting on the parts now.

PAT, sounds like you are on track! Have fun, you will not regret. You should get some "before" logs of your IAT's. You will be horrified when you see 200f. This has been a very necessary mod.

So let me ask again...LOL...cause it got lost in some discussion a few posts back.

-Did you notice a definate SOTP difference after the intercooler was on?
-Did you make any timing/fuel changes before you noticed any difference?
-What type of gain are you expecting to see as far as E.T. goes? 1/2 a
half a second or less?
-Did the A/F change after the I/C went on?

Linda, please see response below.

-Did you notice a definate SOTP difference after the intercooler was on?
Yes It pulls very hard at the start. I now launch in 4wd.

-Did you make any timing/fuel changes before you noticed any difference?
The PCM self adjusted to the max of 18 degrees on the high octane table. before it was 13-15 degrees depending on the IATs.

-What type of gain are you expecting to see as far as E.T. goes? 1/2 a
half a second or less? Im definitely banking on a high 12, I will know in 3 weeks when I go to the track. 0 to 60 is under 5 seconds. Previously 5.5

-Did the A/F change after the I/C went on?[/QUOTE]
Yes, Slight adjustment made to the PE table.

Hope that helps. Any luck with your setup.

Man, sounds like some real nice improvements there, thats fantastic. I am moving along with mine, the elbow collapsing thing slowed me down a little. I have 5 cast aluminum elbows coming in today. Two of which will be welded onto my flanges (intake inlet and blower outlet), the other three will replace the 3 silicone ones already in the circuit. I should have them welded up tomorrow and installed Friday/Saturday. This sucker has been 3 weeks getting done.......im getting really antsy to get it on the road again. Can't wait to feel the difference. I hope i dont have any problems welding the cast aluminum...i have read its more difficult to weld than regular plate aluminum. Where i bought it from, It specifically said great for welding....so we will see.

Sounds like a nice setup. Make sure you have at least one hump hose on each of the pipes so there is dampening from the engine to the chassis mounted intercooler.
Good Luck and keep us posted.

Did you use a KB intercooler or get one off ebay? I plan on fabbing one up for my whipple in the next couple months.
