PAT Got you PM. here are some more pictures. I ran the piping right behind the fan. Also planning to apply heat wrap to the piping. If you are planning to do same, get the 45 degree ports on the IC. If you are running the piping outside of the radiator envelop for lower IAT's, get the 90 degree ports.

Do you have any pics of how the piping is run from the intercooler up? I talked to Billy about doing the 45 degree, however I am having a hard time visualizing how it will look so I am not sure what all I need in the way of 90's 45's etc.

Pics attached. the 45 is more suited for running the IC piping right up the middle. I will be heat wrapping the intake piping to lower IAT's. I estimate I can get this 5-10 degrees lower with heat wrap. Consider using 90 on the driver side if you want to run the piping up the side to reduce heat soak.

I put the 10lb pully on today. Definitely have a 12 second run on the radar.

Have fun!

Hey V, can you run out of the intercooler then 90 degree straight up or do you have to have a jogle in there? Where did you get all your silicone couplers? R those the ebay ones. I dont want mine to suck shut under vac. either.

12 sec. run, cool man. So it made a nice difference?

What kind of time do you expect to pick up from the intercooler alone? After you get the timing dialed in i mean. I been wondering about this myself too.

If you can put up with the whine, It will make a tremendous difference. Im hoping for a 12 second run. The silverado SS ran a 12.25 on the other forum without an intercooler. So far Ive noticed the following.

1)No knock retard or rattle at tip in due to the "air spring" formed by the intercooler" and piping
2)IATs at least 80 degrees cooler. Two weeks ago I saw IAT peak at 180F. Today ambient was 70 and I saw 90 to 100. Keep the cooling fan on.
3)Engine runs cooler
4)No timing pulls from IAT so timing was steady at 18 degrees throughout the entire run
5)This one surprised me - Much better on gas - at least 50 to 75km more??

1. This is a plus, I had KR issues at tip in although they are almost gone.
2. 20-30 above ambient, works for me. Currently once everything is heat soaked I get a low of 50 above ambient.
3. My guess would be due to the decreased IAT's
4. Beats my 13 degrees now
5. 50-75km a tank? I am trying to figure out that in miles. Maybe due to the increase in timing which would require less thottle input?

Pat, you must get 4 ply couplers. I killed all the straight silicones in days. Do not run elbows without metal support underneath, it will suck in for sure, even a 4 ply. T bolts are a must if the piping pops off during your run, the AFR will shoot through the roof - it would be like WOT without any fuel. My couplers werer from Vibrant Performance. My setup is very tight in that if something lets go, there is always something behind it to support it structurally. In fact I ordered the 3 foot section of hose and will use it to make some longer joiners with double clamps. The 45 came straight up the middle of the vehicle at the intake opening. However it prone to heat soak. The 90 will allow you to run up the side and come cross car into the intake. You will need three 90s compared to 2 with my setup.

Good Luck
