Just rode in a 2010 Magnacharger Tahoe

7psi pulley and 2wd with just the Magnacharger kit.....I'm a little disappointed. Guy says it should be 500 hp, I hope my future turbo set up will not disappointed me like that did, and I hope to have 500 at the wheels unlike his claimed crank rating. Granted I wasn't driving and I don't know what it was like before the install and thats a pretty heavy vehicle. Better than stock, but not too impressed.

^^^ x2... 380 at best with a can tune.... Before I put a turbo on my truck I was dead set on a procharger, actually drove to Phoenix to buy one! Well, the guy sold it before I got there, so I went and looked at a rcsb with a mp112 on it with a 4l80e. Went for a ride in the truck... Wasn't impressed at all... Figured I might have gained 100hp to the wheels with some supporting mods, wasn't worth the $3,500+ for 100hp gain (this was a used kit).... Ended up driving back home empty handed and doing some research on turbo systems, (not to mention everyone that was selling their procharger a and super chargers in Phoenix were going turbo)... Long story short, joined PT.NET, bought a SPIKE turbo kit, and for less money then I would have had tied up in a used procharger or supercharger setup, I right at doubled my factory hp to the rear wheels with a turbo setup.

I run a magnacharger on my 88 Monte with a 5.3 and its the older MP112 not the TVS1900 that he prob had. But I can tell you 470whp in a 3300lb car is much more impressive then a 5500lb truck. Essentially the rule of thumb is every 1000lbs is 100hp interchangeably and the Tahoe would need 670whp to feel like my car.
I've ridden in a 530whp Ext cab Silverado (right around 5500lbs) and my car feels much different (I.E. the weight).
Also the power is much more smooth coming in with that supercharger and also takes away the feel of the SOP meter. I am sure if you had a reference vehicle it would change the aspect.
But coming from a stock level which is around 270-290whp in that Tahoe to roughly 380whp is a large jump. I believe Magnacharger even advertises a 100hp gain over stock anyway. But before you get too carried away comparing a turbo to supercharger is apples to oranges in how they make power and how it comes on.
