impressions of front mount turbo kits
#12
Current 6.0 2500 using a GT-40 only running 7psi. SPOOLS really nicely.
With the front mount IC and the tranny cooler left in that stock area, I notice in the summer months the tranny fluid gets a little hotter than it use to., so need to move that.
Not running alot of boost but the damm thing sure is fun.
Started build a little bit different set up than before, going to loose the IC and just use the water meth for the cooling.SO tranny cooler might be left alone.
HIGH boost is all good but my thoughts for my truck is get to boost as fast as possible in the lower rpm band, seeing hows I never spin it up.
Daily driver every where, even when its 105 outside.
The biggest problem I had the drain back, I left in the valve cover and did suck oil 3 times on step down hill grades. What a messy, code throwing **** when that happens.
Going into the oil pan now.

Yes, i have the return to the valve cover right now too but, instead of running the old vacum line from the valve cover to the airbox (I can't anyway due to my intake setup) I just stuck a Breather Filter on the line. Once in a while it spits a little oil out but, not enough to worry about. On the new motor i will reroute the return line to the oil pan where it should be...
