Found the oil burning culprit finally :)
#33
Well, after chasing an oil burning problem ever since I first installed the turbo kit on my truck, I think it's finally shown itself.
Looks to me like when I lost #7 on the last motor it threw some crap through the turbine wheel on the turbo. The edges are pretty chewed up. I'm also thinking that when that happened, it threw the wheel enough out of balance to slowly wear on the oil seal until it started smoking all the time.
I'm gonna take this down to the local turbo expert tomorrow and see if he can rebuild it for me.

So maybe that old #7 piston got a little hot, contributing the the engine melt down? If this is a sign of the aftermath?? Wasn't your truck leaking oil into the turbine housing wayyyy back before this fisrt engine build?
All this makes me wonder if I should just put my truck back to NA and forget boost forever. Even when you think things are ok and truned for daily driving **** still happens like all your issues.
Is there a perfect set up out ther for say 600-700hp thats capable of being daily driven, hard when desired???
Enough blabbin, I'm drunk.

Thanks, but that's too small for my application. I need something bigger.
Yeah it's bad!

Sweet Chris.. now to get it running..
and about that 'king of the highway' mishap that landed us here with said GTO... I think u were doing WELL over a hundo cuz I was pegging my speedo and then Kyle stepped on it and blew past me, haha fun, but destructive... I think we may all need to leave for TX at different intervals to reduce the probability of hot doggin'

No excuses for December!!
Shannon, I'm glad it didn't let go. I sent pics to my buddy who works for Honeywell Turbo and he said that is definitely debris damage, not heat damage. It could have been a lot worse!
Devan, I think I remember my log file saying that we were doing 120+...definitely moving out. I can't even imagine the RPM that turbo was spinning, pushing 15psi into a 408ci engine turning 5700 RPM....
