its just that when it came out i figured that there would be a few water issues then they came out with the filter relocation to inside the bedside and i thought that should cure it but ive read a few posts where they drove it in the rain and sucked water in their intake and they had to disassemble it to clean it out
what quick silverado said i believe him and its great that he has had no problems
one question that i have , it doesnt really belong in this thread but here goes, if it hurts for water to enter the intake system from rain, etc., the why when injecting meth do some run a meth/water mixture and it makes it run better... ive always understood the meth injection as meth=octane boost/additional fuel and water =cooling agent

I'm not seeing an STS kit placing a truck in the 11's. A front mount turbo and a solid built motor will get it there, but he already said he's not interested in the STS kit.
Livernois may be revising there current kit if I've heard right. There kit may not be availabe for a while.
The Radix kit will suit your power needs from what you are looking for. If you hold off a while, they will be offering the 112hh and 122hh kits. They are basically revised Radix units that can effeciently make more boost than there current kit.
I have a lot of goodies in my garage. The Radix just being one of them. I was so far into this mod streak, then here recently, I lost the will to keep on top of it. I'm debating on even pursuing installing all of my mods now. They may be up for grabs if I decide to abort my project.
I'll keep you guys informed.

8ALTNG is hitting 11.8s on a 4.8, quicksliverado is hitting 11.30s and there are a few others in the mid 11s. An STS when equipped right will beat most other FI options out there.
Jim you will see what an STS kit can do on heavy *** truck like mine with a cammed 6L and the kit. Wilde Racing hit mid 12 in his heavy ecsb 4wd on a STOCK 6L, no cam, and 5200 shift points, through an 80e, stock 80e converter, I dont see a radix doing that

I can tell you that the "water" issues are overated. I have seen one guy post here who actually sucked up water. I drive in rain, snow and sloppy sleety **** all winter.
If your system is not sealed with any FI set-up you can get water in your charge pipes. You don't have to drive through lakes to accomplish this either. Just get your filter wet from pressure washing your ride and then drive it all out with a soaked filter and you will see. The worst that can happen with a residual amount of water getting in is the MAF getting soaked and you truck not responding to throttle inputs until you dry it out.
Either way, if the STS's filter location makes you that nervous I say don't get it. You won't have any trouble finding other kits out there. Just do you homework and get what you think will make you happy, because after blowing 4-6k on a set up it's kind of hard to go back or get your money out of it if you try and sell it.

from what i am hearing you say the radix makes the most sence. out of the box it is a great set up and if you get greedy there are lots of easy things you can do to bump it up. if you get really power hungry then you could step up to the a built motor and a 122 or a front mount turbo kit later(if anyone is selling a kit). starting from scratch it is hard to know exactly how much power is going to be enough to make you happy but i have to think 500rwhp in a 2wd truck is going to take some time to get bored with.

My truck has had the STS kit on it with the snorkle kit for over 3 years and over 65k miles and I have never had a problem with water. Ever. I have over 180k on the truck now.
