We have 100's of these oil
Kits out there. Been running that combination for years.
The 5/8 hose barb Has the same id with 1/2npt or 3/8npt.
Now unless the fittings where machines in error then they aren't the issue.

Also looks to me as if the drain starts going back uphill about 8" from the pan....

Update, Rick and the others nailed the drain hose as an issue, it did go uphill a bit, I took a side shot as recommended. That helped the issue 95%.

When I hook up the "vent" hoses into the PCV it builds backpressure almost instantly and will begin to blow blue smoke, nothing like in the first video, but if I let the valve covers vent to atmosphere all together the smoking stops almost immediately.

How are you guys venting the PCV system?

I vent both valve covers to a vented catch can.

If you are using a Pcv you need a check valve in the line.
No Pcv vent the valve coves to filters or a catch can with filter.

Do you have both covers going to one catch can?

Yes. When I had the turbo I also had the valley going to it as well. 1/2" lines from each valve cover to a moroso vented can. One line on each side.

Ahhhh I see, did you drill/tap the valve covers for the larger dia. Hose? Or just shove the 1/2" hose over the factory nipple

On the driver side I drilled and tapped it for 3/8" npt and used a 1/2" barb. Pass side is stock I think.
