Default Engine oil cooler

Has any body with a turbo installed an engine oil cooler?

I am wanting to install one, but wondering if it will work properly if I route it like this...

I plan on using the factory engine oil cooler lines, the one that has pressure ( I will cap the other one) route it to the heat exchanger then to the turbo, and then the drain to the oil pan.
Would this be a good idea?
Would i get enough oil to the turbo?

Where are you getting oil pressure now.?
The factory oil cooler that is in place on the truck. Do not cap anything off. My understanding is the Out line goes to the cooler and then back to feed the engine. If you cap either the engine will not see any oil. Trucks with NO oil coolers just have a cover that allows the oil out port to go right back to the engine.

I am getting it from that cover that is above the oil filter. I tapped into it.
My truck did not have a factory oil cooler, but i have the line to install one.

The oil will be getting back to the engine, after it goes through the turbo, draining back into the oil pan

Go from your tapped hole to the oil cooler, oil cooler to the turbo, turbo to the pan.
This way you will still have oil pressure and cooler oil going into the turbo.

You shouldn't have any problems doing it that way. I have my oil routed in the same pattern trickperformance described on my turbo m3. The car didn't come with an oil cooler so I was in the same boat as you. I know that's also how all the other guys who have put turbos on there m3 route their oil for their cooler. The only thing you want to make sure of is that the oil drains almost effortlessly from the turbo to the pan. Im not sure about turbos on these trucks so I don't know if the manifold mounts the turbo high enough or not but you want to be sure that it drains well or bye bye engine. Thats a problem for M3's because with certain manifolds the turbo mounted to low so gravity wont feed the oil back into the pan.
