well check out my post, small turbo build...... i know you cant get 900hp for $5k,, hell i spent more than that for the tranny changeover/converter...not to mention what i spent on the turbo and motor.

so what is a good $ number to throw out there to get 900hp. not that i want it, but i am just curious what you guys think. and are we talkin at the crank or at the wheels?? cuz u know that driveline eats up alot of power.....

btw, dyno #'s should be posted tomorrow or thursday.

Well, lets do some factoring!

forged motor 3400.00 Machine work, Pistons, rods, lifters, oil pump, cam, bolts, assembly.... Being conservative on price!

Turbo setup 6000.00 Nice size turbo with an intercooler good BOV and WG
Transmission 3500.00 80e with a core charge
rear end 1100 Thats bare minimum, add another 400.00 for CalTracs
driveshaft 400
meth inj 600 Need it!
tires 800 Including Front
MISC 1500 General supplies. Broken parts ETC....
Fuel setup 1500 Big PUMP, big injectors, Injector driver box, lines, filters
Heads 2000 Thats being conservative. Mine were like 2500.00
TC 900
Tuning 700+ If you cant tune on your own. Dyno time + SD tune etc.

Id say to build a 900WHP FI truck your going to throw down 15-20K+ EASILY!!!!
Its hard to say. It depends on what you can do as far as the build goes.

It can be done cheaper but.... Cheaper isnt always better.

Now building a 900 HP nitrous truck would be cheaper!! (UP FRONT) in the end it will even out with melted pistons etc..

Ohh and the sad thing is that i am probably forgetting to add something to the list above

What Derek said plus:

intake solution and 90mm TB -- ~1k - 2k

Some of the prices D mentions are much lower than I could get as well -- my engine build was more like $5k but I used diamond and callies internals, plus did ARP fasteners everywhere. The stroker kit alone was something like $3k-ish, then machine work was around $1200 with the extras I did (decked the block, rebalanced with my balancer etc).

Not enough in the misc fund either When I redid my oil filter solution and added 2 pumps for the twins, the hoses and fittings alone were $750 (yeah I run a rear turbo though, so have approximately 98000 feet of braided line).

I'd say a dependable and streetable 900hp will cost $20-25k (and that there is little difference between 900hp at that level and 1100hp -- just a spin of the boost controller **** ). I built mine at the "daily driver" level of dependability and allowed for making it a track truck when I wanted to. That costs a little extra over a dedicated track vehicle.

I've built a few high HP cars/trucks.For this power level I would say the cheapest would be $40k.Thats motor, driveline, fuel system, labor ect.It can go to $60k easilly enough. This for for a reliable high hp vehicle.

Yea guys i was really being conservative on pricing. I didnt want to throw out a 20K figure and people think theres no way possible it cost that much!

The sad thing is my conservative estimate was without Labor.
Not many guys can build a setup like this at home!
