Default DBC 102 Throttlebody

Who is running one and or what's the best? I am looking at the Holley right now, the low rpm taper one. I like that it has the ability to adjust the TPS sensor.

https://www.holley.com/products/ls_p.../parts/112-581

I can get it quite a bit cheaper then that.

As you can tell by the direction of this thread I am gonna swap to DBC. I have a donor harness and am working on getting a pcm.

I would highly recommend against a Nick Williams 102 DBC. I don't know if you remember my thread about enlarging the idle passage to get enough airflow. I really had to hog it out to get the point of just adequate.

I do now that you mention that. Thanks for reminding me. That's too bad, because their drive by wire 102 is one of the best driving electronic throttle bodies I've ever used.

It might just be unable to support idle airflow in a 408. Maybe it will work on a little tiny engine like yours.

That might be the case. Good thing your not running a big boy cam in that 408, or you would be sol.

Haha. My baby engine has a bigger stick.

That Holley throttle looks nice. I would like to see pics of the IAC passages, though.

The electronic TBs are so much easier to tune, especially with larger engines that have blowers. Normal TBs basically run out of range on the IAC valve, so you have to adjust it to either cold start well, or be able to idle down when hot. I dont know of any aftermarket IAC valve that has more range.

I use the $90 ebay one on mine and after 20 minutes of work with a dremel, works perfect.
