The silver coatings hold up to scratches but don't go as hot as the black. But the black coatings will scratch off alot easier.
Kyle where were measuring those temps. The final temp of the exhaust gases should be level. Rising temps can be caused by being to lean or to rich. Too much fuel in the pipe will cause alot if heat.

I know these truck will run EGTs about 12-1400* in cruising when properly tuned and medium boost setups will run up to about high 1500 to low 1600's in boost. The most I ever saw with mine was when I was compounded with the MP t76 and the blower and it got to 1720's at the track. But these high temps are just the GAS temps when boosting hard, for seconds at a time and not continuous. So I don't think your going to get the piping that hot.
