The silver coatings hold up to scratches but don't go as hot as the black. But the black coatings will scratch off alot easier.

Kyle where were measuring those temps. The final temp of the exhaust gases should be level. Rising temps can be caused by being to lean or to rich. Too much fuel in the pipe will cause alot if heat.

The probe was about 3" pre-turbo so it was an average of the accumulation of all 8 cylinders and my tunes generally run a touch on the conservative side, around 10.9-11.3 AFR.

But these high temps are just the GAS temps when boosting hard, for seconds at a time and not continuous. So I don't think your going to get the piping that hot.
Decisions, decisions. Low 1,600°s don't leave a lot of room up to the 1,700° rating of the extreme sterling coating. Although I understand that there is a difference between the temperatures of the exhaust gas and the outside of the piping. I think I'll end up going with the extreme sterling coating. You haven't led me astray so far!
