i really want to forge my 5.3 motor and try to throw 24+psi at it. what do you guys think a forged motor can run in a single cab? if a 4.8 can go 11.0's at 125 with 16psi and (casper) can go 10.8's with 14 psi and nitrous what would a forged 5.3 with alot of boost run?

forged rods/pistons
afr/trickflow/prc's etc
custom turbo cam
vic jr
24+psi

would 9.90's-10.30's be doable in a forged 5.3? a forged 5.3 should be able to make the same amount of power as a forged 370 only difference it would take more boost correct?

 

9's would be sweet... Have you driven the thing yet? How does it run?

 

most ppl are gonna say build a 346, cuz it would be about the same cost more than likely. i think it would be cool to see a forged 5.3 though

i havint layed into it yet. waiting on fuel pumps to get here. altho it cam's pretty dam hard for a turbo cam on a 115lsa.

 

I should be possible, there's a guy over on ls1tech that ran 9.9 with a stock block 6.0 with 4000lbs race weight in a gto with a 4l80e. Lows 10s should be very possible in similar weight truck.
