Default Converter for supercharged truck

Truck has a 4L80E behind a 6.0L that makes 500+ rwhp. 3.73 rear. Recommendation from a guy who's opinion I respect tremendously said go with a Yank 2600. I was shocked, putting it mildly, to find out the converter sells for $900 + shipping. Back in my younger days, $900 would buy a well built turbo 400 tranny with converter. Shooooot. Is there a less expensive way to accomplish what I'm after? Your thoughts appreciated.

The 80e converters are expensive. I will be selling my Art Carr 2800 stall when it gets back from being checked out.

Edge Converters offers one for $400.00. From what most people say on here they are good converters.

there is cheaper out there but you get what you pay for. Go get you a $300 tci and blow it up during your first hard launch then you can buy a new trans and converter. It takes a lot to get these sleds moving and looking at your sig you have got a lot invested.....don't go cheap here.

I hate that "get what you pay for" crap. It sucks hard, but I know it's true. Every time a try to save a buck, it costs me a buck X 10.

PI and Circle -D are my two top contenders for my current 4L80 swap.

they are the only two that offer multiple disk set-ups.

I had my 2800 built by Phoenix transmissions and it has held up great for 50,000 hard miles in my 80e.

My son had a Circle D on his 60E. It held up well and didn't cost a whole lot of coin if memory serves. I see their '80 version tips the scales at $1K+. Dammit. What is the PI you're referring to?

I had a yank in my truck and liked it, then I changed to a pi and I will never go back to a yank. I also love how the pi works in our customer's truck with the tvs1900.
