We'll see what happens with this arrangement. New tensioner and pulley, 100mm idler on PS, 90mm lipped idler on DS(pulley that came with the tensioner). Put the original 112" Gates belt on for testing. It's a little tighter then before with more wrap.

I took it for a drive and beat on it for a while. So far so good and performance was improved. No bling like Metcos but so far it's working. I'll drive it like this for a few days then try a different belt.

I'm wondering where the tensioner is at in it's travel range on you guys trucks that are having problems with tensioners and belts.

When I installed my belts for the different pulleys I tried to keep the tensioner in the middle of it's travel range so it wouldn't "bottom out" either way under load or when you let off the throttle abruptly.

So far, so good.

Here is an application guide and belt spec lookup for Gates belts:
http://www.gates.com/part_locator/re...esttimeout=500

Can get a little confusing as a K061120 is 112.5", K061115 is 112", K061110 is 111".....etc.

Their parts interchange lookup can come in handy as well for ACDelco and NAPA part numbers:
http://www.gates.com/part_interchang...cation_id=3286

Picked up a NAPA branded belt that looks more like the Gates.

I agree. Mine is slightly to the "tight" side (NO JOKES GUYS) and have never snapped a tensioner. I have had it to 6500rpms and quickly back-peddled many times and so far so good. I carry a spare under the back seat,...just in case.

Mine is a little tighter now with the new pullies. The pulley arm on the tensioner is parallel to the top of the mounting bracket.
