Caught this just in the nick of time. Could have lost the tensioner and who knows what else. I thought I was seeing a lot of belt dust. Funny thing is I put this belt on just a few months ago as preventative maintenance. Wasn't that impressed with it when I first got it. Original Radix kit belt is back on now. Have to see what else I can find around town. Just when I was wondering why so many people have had belt issues while I was doing OK.

Dayco belt? Good thing you caught it before it snaped.

Damn dude... glad you caught that one. Are the brand of belts that come with the kit generally the best belt? I heard folks using the gatorback but complaining of noise...

Looks like the Gates and Gatorback are pretty much even in preference. Didn't notice any noise from this lumpy belt.

I think I found what is slicing the belt down the middle. Thought the blower sounded funny last night(belt slip). Looks like the belt is walking half off and then back onto the pulley, but not coming completely off. Could be what caused the voltage drop in the TPSensor last night that put me into REP mode. Happened right after I let off the throttle from a WOT blast. You can see the line starting down the center of this belt.

Any suggestions to correct/prevent this?

They don't like WOT and backpedaling. If it is walking any other time maybe one of the idler pulleys is shifting?

Can't move any of the pulleys in or out and they don't wobble, but there is an uneven wear pattern on one of the idlers.

Check your crank pulley and make sure it isn't walking off. It happened to me once with my radix. Pulley was slipping on crank and backed the bolt out each time it did it.

Gates belts are what comes with the radix and are the best IMO. I know they can be found at Carquest, Napa, and O'Reilly auto parts stores.

Well I use a gatorback and like it, it does make a bit more noise then the gates but I had problems with the gates slipping(chirping) at shifts so I went to the gatorback and problem solved.
