sounds pretty reasonable to me.

In checkin out my buddy Rogers' thread...
https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=463575

I came to a conclusion. This crap is expen$ive!

I considered doing some mods prior to S/C. The powdercoating is more than likely a go. I called Magnacharger today & spoke w/. a really cool guy, John. Since that Brian doesn't return PM's.

Said as long as I'm careful, I could remove rails & AN fittings & reuse O-rings. I'm just a bit skeptical (due to my recent luck), but I still wish I had a p/n for those, just so I could have on hand. I don't need a whoops in the middle of the job.

Said my 112 w/. factory 3.4 pulley on 5.3 w/. fatory headers & cats, good for 6#. He said 5-6# actually. I guess the 5.3 or trucks don't like boost like cars. He must be talkin bout the C/R, but I thought 9.5-1 was on cars too. Said I might do well to talk to a tuner / engine builder to outline my goals. Beyond that boost level, said fuel becomes real important! Smallest I could run, 2.8 & I'd see 10#. Beyond that, I'd need an OD crank pulley like an ATI. I guess p/n is 917286. It spins all accss. stock except -10% on A/C & uses a different A/C belt. At $450 new just for pulley, it's gettin into IW territory.

Now for the bad part. I thought a CTS-V HX would be ~$200. Uh uhh! He said $500. Told me my stock HX is fine. I just keep reading of high IATs & what all on here are doin to try to keep em under wraps.

Good news: A crank pin kit is $95.

Ya, I think it'd look sweet. My bad, u know how I am w/. my PT shorthand.

Innovators West. Lately, it seems people have been gettin scolded for posting non-sponsors, so I just figured those that knew, knew. Tryin to fly under the radar. I checked em out today. They sure as **** don't give em away.

Luke is right, HX = heat exchanger

You're right on all counts. Bill told me the same thing a long time ago. I always find myself goin, while I'm in there, it'd make the most sense to do this now.

Anybody else do that?

Yea man, I'm big on doing things "while I'm in there" instead of going in their twice and doing the same job over and over again. I've found that when doing the same job a second time something always seems to go wrong...

Thanks for clearing up the IW and HX Luke and Tom, makes sense now

Also, u don't realize how big a relatively so-called easy weekend job can become when u do that. Maybe u do.

Think about it:
-Basic Radix install

-pin crank

-gauges. I have a bung for w/b, but I'm not really lookin FWD to wiring all my gauges up. It'll be a mess o wires & wiring isn't my thing. I'm no tech, but I'd rather bolt stuff on. I'm sure I'll like the end result tho. I need to check out exhaust now, so I don't damage a w/b; it's hittin x-membere ever since tranny swap/stall. My buddy said I may've weakened the rubber engine mounts by letting engine hang down, if I'm undrestanding correctly, I think that's what he meant on the mounts.

-my fuel rail idea will be added into the project, but it will be on before install.

-any other changes I make along the way. And man, do I have some ideas.
